Resonance band is one of the most important groups in Ken Vandermark's immense assortment of undertakings, which not only revisit several decades of history of jazz history art form (from Sonny Rollins to Stan Kenton, to Cecil Taylor, to Ornette Coleman, to Eric Dolphy, to ...), but also writes some new and fascinating chapters...
The two weeks in Krakow, composing, then rehearsing/performing with this incredible group of musicians was truly one of the great experiences of my life. (Ken Vandermark )
We normally work in different musical fields and despite that, or maybe just because of that, every meeting like this brings about a new experience, even a kind of journey into the unknown...
Between 1978 and 1981 Coxhill recorded and toured extensively with Andrea Centazzo in duo and in combination with trombonist Giancarlo Schiaffini and trumpet player Franz Koglmann, releasing 4 albums on ICTUS Records: Moot, Situations, Darkly and Darkly Again.
The collaboration between Andrea Centazzo and Lol Coxhill lasted few years and saw mainly the two playing in duo or with the trumpeter Franz Koglmann. Centazzo was also performing few duo concerts with Koglmann and this CD presents tracks in the 3 combinations. All materials were recorded live in Vienna, Innsbruck and Bologna. Hard core of the CD is the Vienna Bosendorfer Saal Concert, one of the best, if not the best, of this trio.
"Miniatures" is beautiful, very tasty album. Doubless it's something more, then improvised music. Many common has with contemporary music. Anyway two songs are arrangemant compositions of Jan Krenz and Artur Malawski. There's in this music outsized air and space. Jorgensmann Clarinet has a exellent sound , brothers play very careful and it is proper to advice.

The New Fracture Quartet is an ensemble organized by Tim Daisy and serves as a showcase for his own compositions. North Quartet of two saxophonists - Peter Brotzmann (Germany) and Mikolaj Trzaska (Poland) - is sharp jazz improvisations.
Mikolaj Trzaska turns out to be the most dedicated to realize his artistic visions and probably the most honest representative of the first generation of yass artists. Wild, croaking sound of Brötzmann - once called saxophone's butcher - still maintains its virulence.
The Polish kickass rhythm section of bassist Marcin and drummer Bartlomiej Oles + multi-talented horn player Adam Pieronczyk = the best what happens in Polish Jazz.
Suite for Trio + recorded with ean Luc-Cappozzo possesses a haunting and charming quality that has matured like a good wine to become- with passing of time - richer in taste and flavour.
