This collection of 6 CD's in two beautiful metal boxes contains almost all the materials recorded by the orchestra including a week of broadcasting for the Italian radio recorded in Rome and much more. Known as one of the most interesting reality of the new music of the 80s, the Mitteleuropa Orchestra was formed by Andrea Centazzo in the late 1979 integrating young players with skilled soloist with the aim of performing his own compositions.
Released originally as double LP: Cjant - First Concert For Small Orchestra Based Upon Friulian Folk Songs, is Centazzo's first orchestral composition combining a string section along with the original Mitteleuropa (Free Jazz) Orchestra featuring Theo Jörgensmann, Gianluigi Trovesi and many others. A fundamental chapter in the group's history.
Andrea Centazzo compositions, featuring two of the most innovative talents of the Los Angeles scene: Kai Kurosawa (War Guitar) and Motoko Honda (piano).
This CD contains exciting music from different 1970-80s recording sessions featuring Tom Cora, Carlo Actis Dato, Gunther Hampel, Frederik Rambold, Andrea Centazzo and others. The music on the album covers wide range of free improvisation, spoken in many artistic languages. Especially fascinating is recorded in 1980 (and never before released), 21-minutes long conversation between Tom Cora and Andrea Centazzo.
An amazing collection of solo percussion recorded live in concerts during two decades (1970s-1980s), around the world from Woodstock, to Berlin, Stuttgart, Milan, and Los Angeles. Some of the tracks comes from the first solo Centazzo's LP released in 1974 "Fragmentos", and are dedicated to Pablo Neruda's poetry. Fragments #1

In 1978, thanks to Eugene Chadbourne, Davey Williams and John Zorn I was able to organize a memorable US tour. On this CD you'll find the original New York recording session with a sextet of great musicians. The tape has been released in the past on ICTUS LP in a reduced version and on CD in an unfortunate cut full of wrong edit. Now you can finally enjoy the music as it was conceived and performed. NY Sextet Improvisation
...Anthony and I each drew from a deck of playing cards, coresponding blocks (26x2) of the composition, which determined the actual recorded material...(Chris Dahlgren)
I find this music challenging, exciting and in a fluid motion. I hope that this is the beginning for many other experiences to come. (Andrea Centazzo) Back to the Future
Newst release from Charles Gayle - almost 70-year-old legend of free jazz. He spent almost 20 years playing on the streets of New York City. Gayle begun his professional career in mid 80s performing in clubs (e.g. Knitting Factory) and recording albums (the most important once for Silkheart, FMP, Thirsty Ear and Clean Feed). This album was recorded at Jazzga Club, Lódz, Poland on April 25, 2007.
Clangs was the fruit of a number of concerts and two weeks we spent together, sometimes talking, sometimes just simply in silence, a silence nonetheless already thick with references and interpretative codes. (A.Centazzo) The New Moon
The international project "Penderecki... jazz" (2002) combines contemporary music and jazz. This unique project was created under the honorary patronage of Krzysztof Penderecki. Outstanding musicians like Romanian pianist Mircea Tiberian, German clarinet player Rudi Mahall, bass player and percussionists Marcin and Bartlomiej Oles fused Penderecki's compositions with jazz.
Daniel Carter is not an enigma, no more than a teeming forest is. Give some sincerely up for true and you've made a commitment which will last a lifetime, if you've got the mettle for searching unfettered. If the world ever does truly silence for a moment please, the first sounds I would want to hear are the ones that Daniel Carter chooses, because I know that true democracy is deep in his essence. Although this is an improvised session, it has that wonderful magic glue that these serious and seasoned musicians are so successful at. (BLG, Downtown Music Gallery)
