Piotr Lemanczyk Follow the Soul In his decision to go for the double bass, Lemanczyk followed the voice of his soul. You can hear it in each and every note of "Follow the Soul". His performance is characterized by a strong and resolute attack on the string, a deep and full tone, precision of articulation, melodic invention. (Krzysztof Kuczkowski)

Polish Funk 3 - the unique selection of rare grooves from Poland of the 70's (CD) As with previous volumes, this one's put together by the Soul Service DJ Team -- and this time around, they seem to really be opening up their bag -- increasing the styles of music offered through an exploration of fusion, vocal jazz, big band, and soul -- all with a deep undercurrent of the funk promised in the title! There's some really wicked tunes with Polish lyrics -- words you probably can't understand, but which are sung with a nicely harsh edge that almost make the tunes feel like Finders Keepers-styled funk. Polish Funk 4 Unique funk sound of Poland in the 70s, 4th volume in series (extended CD version).
Polish Funk the unique selection of rare grooves from Poland of the 70's A wonderful introduction to the kinds of grooves we've been digging from Poland for years -- that mad mix of jazz, funk, fusion, electric, and vocal elements that somehow managed to flourish wonderfully during the 70s years of Soviet control -- a real musical marvel, considering the setting -- and because of tight border control, very few of these tunes ever made it out to the west! (Dusty Groove)

Polish Jazz vol.17 JERZY MILIAN Bazar This CD presents the road covered by Milian during the 15 years of his work as well as his fascinations and capabilities, both as a virtuoso player and a composer. The title of the record suits its contents. The listeners will find unusually varied music on it, rare instruments, various forms, tones and rhythms, expression and lyricism — in short a host of aural and aesthetic experiences. The excellent members of Milian's trio, which has existed since 1966» also play on this record — the double bass player Jacek Bednarek and drummer Grzegorz Gierlowski as well as members of the "Novi" group — the vocalist Ewa Wanat and flute-player Janusz Mych.
Polish Jazz vol.25 MIECZYSLAW KOSZ Reminiscence Kosz was one of the greatest hopes of Polish Jazz and his suicide death at a ridiculously young age (his 20`s) was a true tragedy. He was a most lyrical and technically perfect pianist ever on the Polish scene and everybody compared his work with that of Bill Evans. Unfortunately this album from 1971 is the only proper recording of his superb playing (some more material does exists but the recording quality is not that great). On this album Kosz plays some of his interesting interpretations of classical music and some of his elegant compositions. For lovers of piano trios this is a true diamond!
