About:
IREK WOJTCZAK - saxophonist, composer, arranger, graduate of the Academy of Music, Gdansk. In 2000, as one of the founding members of the Tri-Cities group Groovekojad, he recieved a Polish music award the Fryderyk 2000 in the Alternative Music category. In 2001, he won a Polish Dance Award for best new artist. As a session player, he has worked in both film and the theater on recordings for Leszek Mozdzer's transopera A Midsummer Night's Dream and the soundtrack for the film Segmnent 76 directed by Oskar Kaszynski. In 2004, the Irek Wojtczak Quartet recorded the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim on Look to the Sky, and the following year they released Outlook, with all compositions by Wojtczak.
