About:
The band established in Bydgoszcz, Poland in the year 2001 by musicians playing in important polish and european jazz, avant-garde and postrock groups. The band is connected to a legendary avant-garde Club "BRAIN" from Bydgoszcz. Connecting their experience and musical background, they created a new and interesting modern electro-acoustic style and musical language. They released debut album in march 2005 by Tone Industria - The Warsaw label.
At the moment, the second album of Sing Sing Penelope - "Music for Umbrellas" is released. It contains 6 new compositions. The guest star on "Fis & Love" piece is the great Sebastian Gruchot - violin player. Album is held by a new Warsaw Label "Monotype Records". It is a very mature presentation of modern jazz musical concept.
Recently, In Summer 2005, the band has been invited to present its music during Warsaw Summer Jazz Days- the biggest international modern jazz festival in Central Europe. Also took part in Polish-German Year 2006 in Germany playing 7 great reviewed concerts. In March 2006 they were invited by Oxford University in England and played in Oxford University Club.
